Here’s our first quote.
If email is the death of time management, your phone has become the plague. So we touch our phones 2,617 times a day. On average, we pick up and open our phones on average 96 times a day.
This is so relevant because when you think of actually having a productive day, my father used to talk about email pinging you, but now you have every app on your phone. You have slack, you have Trello, you have this Facebook workplace, you have these people talking to you, aI talking to you. There’s so much noise trying to take you away from where you need to focus.
So my challenge for you today, can you turn off the notifications for your email? So every time an email comes, it shouldn’t ping. Every time a slack comes, it shouldn’t ping every time your phone has a text message, it shouldn’t ping, shut them down and see if you can handle being present in the now and handling what you need to get done.
Because just because everybody else thinks that is a priority does not mean that it is your priority. The best of people, I know that do time management in the best way possible. They will put their phone on airplane mode when they’re in work mode. And then they’ll set aside the time that they will spend being reactive to all the notifications that happen.
You can react to the notifications, just make sure it’s a certain period of time that you’re doing. So it could be from 11:30 to 12 every day, right before you go to lunch, you have a half an hour where you turn on the notifications and let them all ring. And then you get back to your business on what is most productive.
So we can have that 80/20 rule, right? It’s not 20% of your time produces 80% of the results. Let’s flip that. So that 80% of your time is producing even more of your results. So that is one quick hack on how to manage your time.
And there you have it, your special nugget for today. Get your copy or multiple copies at ultimatesalesmachine.com 80 pages of new material to help you double your sales in the next 12 months. That’s ultimatesalesmachine.com
