Warning. When I first inherited my father’s business, I would only email my database. When I had an offer to pitch a couple hundred thousand businesses on a mailing list would always lead to a nice amount of sales with a little effort. It was so easy that I just started pitching all the time.

So this actually was. I was worried to put this in the book because it was a massive failure that I had when I first inherited the business. It, it was shocking how I’d just be able to promote somebody else’s business. I use emails that they had already templated out and you send with a click of a button and you make, a $100,000 couple $100,000 just from sending an email.

It was like, It was so easy. It was too good to be true. So I just kept doing it. And because I only pitched my list started to just reject me and think that I was spam. So then we got on all these spam filters and people started leaving my database and it. It has taken me years to rebuild what I ruined in a matter of four months, five months.

I put that in there because we’ve generated millions of dollars from our email database and some of the lessons were easier than others. So if you think that you should only email your list just about an offer. I would recommend not doing that. When I first started emailing out again in a positive manner, it was like once a quarter, I would send an email, just something educational, but I put so much pressure on it.

It rarely got out. So then I started doing it once a month and that helps a bit, but it wasn’t until I hired a copywritter to come in and help me. So I would dictate to them what the message should be. They would type it out and then it would be the finished product. So it wouldn’t take me all this time to write that email.

And it was one of the smartest things that I did with email marketing. So I went from [00:02:00] emailing once a quarter or once a month to now I send out an educational email once a. And at times we’ve also, we’ve now gotten our content down to we’re sending out things every single day, but it takes time to get up to those places.

And it depends on who you bring into your organization. I highly recommend finding a copywriter. It’s a really simple thing. If you feel like, oh, I just don’t have the time to do it. Your email database is that valuable that you should send something of value. 

I went on, upwork.com. It’s so easy to just write email copywriter and all of these people will come up and you’ll see their ratings. You’ll see how much money they’ve made. You’ll see other reviews from other clientele. So it’s really easy to see who’s quality and who isn’t and who you need, because there’s a difference between so many that you pay 30 bucks an hour too, versus a hundred or $400 an hour or two.

And then also. I also have gone on fiverr.com too. So fiverr or Upwork, either of them work to find a copywriter to help you. You already have the ideas and the knowledge you just need them to, it’s much easier to get more emails out in an educational way that leads them to something that helps them rather than just pitching them.
